I'm 56 yrs old and finally learned the proper way to floss my teeth, thanks to my dental hygienist! But last week, I went in for my 3 month cleaning and my gums were bleeding during it so she did a perio charting check and I used to usually hear 2's, and 3's, some 4s....but this time I heard at least 2 6s and I'm all freaked out that they're gonna come out now. lol (I am 1-1/2 years overdue for a deep cleaning). Having my deep cleaning tomorrow and my dental hygienist said this will put me in a good position, now that I know how to floss well, gotta have strong roots too. Still nervous though, I'm not a fan of getting my teeth worked on but I'm so close now to being on maintenance!! :D

Educational videos like this one are the best ones I have found on your channel.

Because I learned plenty of things that I didn't knew before that are very useful for me.

Thank you so much for your effort into making these videos!

Your channel is a hidden gem on YouTube!

I hate that they don't explain it to you. Now I've had a routine appointment recently and I have NO IDEA if they checked my gums or not because I don't remember them saying anything about it.

Yay went numbers went down from over 5 mm to less than 4 mm. My exam by dentist also was great. He liked my teeth. Said wish everyone’s teeth should be this good.

I take mt dental health very seriously and at my old dental office I had never heard them call the numbers out before. I went to a new dentist today and was wondering what all of the numbers meant. I heard a lot of 2 & 3. I did hear 4, but that was back near my wisdom teeth which, yes, I still have. Thank you so much for this explanation.

I just had mine deep cleaned yesterday. I had some 5's and some 4's. No cavities though. As soon as I heard a 5, I go "Oh s**t!" Well, at least I didn't have any 6's or beyond. That would've been a disaster waiting to happen. I'm good until July. My Mom had some 5's and a couple 6's on her bottom teeth. They did those bottom ones on her. She does have to return later this month so they could do her top ones. Yeah, they only did the bottom ones on her because of her insurance. Her top ones were 2's and 3's. Yeah, she did have some 4's as well too. She also has a cavity too, which is the main reason she called for an appointment in the first place. So, she has to return on that same day to have it filled in. After that she'll be good until August.

I am 73 and after CORONA era I went for my annual check up. I hear the numbers 3 2 2, 223 and something like that and at the end the examiner said my teeth and gums have improved compared to last result on our chart! WOW I just wanted to find out more about this testing method. Thanks for making us understand what those numbers mean! I will be continuing taking care of my teeth and gum the way I am taking all the time. Thanks.

I heard a lot of good numbers on the top maybe a couple 4s. The bottom is worse with 5 and 6 and I think a 7 in the back. I was so upset and I hadn't visit a dentist due to my job not covering it on insurance. They just started offering a discount program thank heavens. I said I'm flossing with those picks and I brush twice a day. I don't want to lose my teeth at 26. They said I have stage 2. It is going to cost a lot (even with my discount card) and I guess I will just have to save up and do it in a few months. I didn't have one cavity at least. I am following your channel and videos on oral hygiene. I also bought toothpaste and mouthwash designed for this. I don't think I was truly brushing well or flossing well. Your videos have been so helpful even after 2 days of following your tips my mouth feels so much cleaner. Thank you so much!!

I’ve only recently started seeing a hygienist as previously my dentist used to do my scale and polish every 3 months. I’ve always had a lot of tartar but am not aware of having perio charting until today. Is it supposed to hurt? For almost every tooth there was bleeding though the numbers weren’t too bad overall. I was told that the amount of build up was what they would see in some people in a year and not 3 months. Are some people more prone to tartar? I don’t smoke and rarely drink but I do eat a lot of processed foods. I do clean my teeth but have always struggled with flossing so have been advised to use Tepe brushes and little flossers (like a little plastic frame with some floss going across it) instead of regular floss. I feel a bit demoralised if I’m honest
