That's great to see the difference, my daughter is coming out of local school in Singapore (we are Australian) and I will be homeschooling here, but she does well in maths so I'd like to keep her on Singapore maths. Thankyou for this video!

It would be greatly helpful if you mention if they were spiral vs mastery.

I'm so glad to hear you like Singapore Math! It is a great program. These books are updated often, so it may be a newer edition in the video than you used in 1997.

Hi so glad to the difference. Can you please give me details where I can get the first grade books of Singapore Math books which you have shown.

why is the teacher guide so thick  this is not rocket science. publishers want districts to think that there's some magic in them that teachers cannot do without justifying the cost which can run hundreds of dollars for one teacher's guide

Teaching Textbooks is really worth a review as well! My son struggled in Saxon and Singapore, but is excelling in Teaching Textbooks.

Singapore grade 1 does have a teacher's manual. I can say that Singapore focuses on using the concrete (manipulatives) to support the abstract concepts of math in grade 1. The pictures in the textbook serve as the bridgeway between the two. Saxon also incorporates that, but it didn't inform me the teacher of its importance in the instruction. Another difference I can say is that Singapore's teacher's guide is much more instruction friendly though it doesn't appear to be at first.

I'm using Singapore Math for my Kindergartener and she's breezing through it!  I wonder if this is too basic?
