Simple Router Straight Edge Guide || DIY

This is a super simple straight edge guide that I use for my router when making dado cuts with a straight bit. It allows you to place the edge of the jig directly on your mark for accurate cuts and easy transitions to your next mark. I also use this same method when making a straight edge guide for my circular saw!

*I absolutely love this tool!!! The first one was defective and Dewalt replaced **MyBest.Tools** More bulky than the Bosch and Makita corded palm routers I have but worth it. Nice solid base*

Thanks for making this so simple. No one likes watching 10min vids for a 1min example.

Hi thanks for your time making this video, I'm new to all this when you trim the edge of the board to create the correct straight cut line what happens if I put a different size bit in the router will I have to use the same size bit each time. Thank you from Geoff in the uk

Thank you looks impressive but a novice like me needs a bit more detail! A straight bit? No bearing required because of edge guide, measuring router to get exact spacing etc??.

this was great, I’m new to woodworking
what type of a bit is needed for this job?

don't use the straight edge from the router for cutting straight dado's. if you turn your router slightly against the fence the dado is fucked up. use the rounded side from your router and you can turn your router all the way you like and still have a straight dado.

Usually you can’t nail in a board so this video is kinda worthless. If you are using a router on a piece it’s usually furniture
