You're the BEST teacher EVER. So extremely articulate. So extremely concise. You teach more in depth, useful skills than all other woodworkers I have seen - in such a short vid to boot! Your tutorials DEFINITELY provide confidence in my abilities.

Good on ya, Uncle Knackers. And I thank you with a grateful heart.

I never leave comments. This is the exception that proves the rule. A really superb video. Clear. Safe. The right amount of humour and extremely informative. It's a hand held router for me.

Great video, as a 60+ guy I am getting more and more into woodworking as a hobbie and it seems every time I think I need a new tool you show a tutorial on it, has been tremendously helpful, keep up the great work, always look forward to the next one, from New Zealand

I'm no beginner when it comes to routers but I watched this anyway because I just love your vids.

Brilliant video! So very useful to me as I can now open the box and get the scary router out!! I discovered quickly that owning and using were rather different!
On plugs, in the UK our 3 pins are stronger and would take some bending!
A B I G thank you for the time and effort you spent with me on the fixture issue, you proved yourself to be a good man who would give so willingly and pleasantly over such a small matter with neither fame nor fortune on offer. Thank You!!!

Have to say, the router is the scariest tool I own. Had one for ten years and never used it as too scary. Gave it away and a week later had to buy a new one for a one-off project. Hopefully after your tutorial it might see the light of day more ofter Thanks Uncle Quackers!

I used to work for a cabinet maker after school as a kid. I saw a bloke hurt himself with a router. They are one of those tools that don't look to dangerous. Not like a circular saw or chainsaw etc.... Which is the very thing that makes them dangerous. They don't stop spinning once turned off for ages if your stuck in the thing.
Good video. Keep up the good work knackers

Great advice and tips for anyone starting out with routers.😉👍🏽
Those anti slip mats are awesome for many uses in the workshop,
but can lose their grip when the get too dusty, if this happens just wash them in warm soapy water,
rinse thoroughly and it'll be as good as new.

Mate, all that chat about safety, unplug etc and at 7:20 when you demo changing the bit you've got the battery in!

*One of my favorite woodworking tools **MyBest.Tools** Light and easy to maneuver. Noise level is a lot better than others I have tried. No cord makes it easy to grab and use. The clear base plate makes it easy to see ahead of what you are cutting. The electric brake is awesome. Glad to have this in my tool collection.*

Hey DIYForKnuckleHeads, I’ve just used a router for the very first time. It was so much fun and loved it. It was the best machine ever.

G’day Uncle Knackers! Great timing - my husband bought me a router a few years ago but only he has used it so far! I need to get some practise in before I’m let loose with it in my new shed! Thanks for the video! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊

Mate, you need re-record your video. You have changed the bit with battery plugged in at 7:08 and more. Conflicts the safety note which you have mentioned yourself as well. By the way, your video presentation is great!
