The assassination of a political leader as a means of achieving policy goals and long term security is counterproductive. The same holds true for acts of terrorism, but I can't recall any significant successful freedom movement that that didn't involve acts of terror. Even the people fighting for the creation of the state of Israel resorted to terrorism against the British. I don't agree with the terror being, used but at some point at least a faction of a movement will feel that acts of terror are the only way to be finally succeed. This latest assassination brought to mind the line from Casablanca "And what if you track down these men and kill them, what if you killed all of us? From every corner of Europe, hundreds, thousands would rise up to take our places." Perhaps the next line from the film fits the actions of the Israeli government. Just a thought.

The guy started a war against Israel for no reason, which the citizens of Gaza paid for with their blood. Meanwhile, he has been living in luxury abroad. The Palestinians owe Israel something.

Israel shows yet again that no matter where in the world you may be, the hand of the state of Israel can and will reach out and touch you.
