I see notsufficient enough heat to boil water. I just used mine yesterday to cokk a hamburger! I put about 4 pieces of charcoal on the bottom, twigs on top. I started fire, let it burn down until it ignited charcoal and used it to cook. Antway, always learning versatility of these stoves. Thanks again!

We will deconstruct the biolite and use the fan blowing onto the charcoal and make a mini Lixada Forge. ;)

Thanks for another informative video! I've found that using charcoal can have its purposes but boiling water is not one of them I use it when I want a more "subtle" heat for things like cooking eggs pancakes mushrooms etc. Lots of time when using wood the fire / heat is too intense so its hard to "simmer" things. Anyway thanks again!

I have been wondering how charcoal would work in one of my stoves. Might have to give it a try. Thumbs up on the video.

Just wondering if there is any modifications possible to use this stove with a grill plate Mark similar to the Firebox etc.

I would like to see you close the opening in the front and retest. Also try a paraffin cube instead of the alcohol. Thank you for the test. Or maybe larger charcoal.

Hi Mark, like the video's....keep them coming & I'm personally CURIOUS about how BBQ Wood Chips would work in these firebox stoves & could you cook over them ??
Now that's a video you should do sometime
Thanks.

I guess you can't ask that stove to do it all ! but hey at that price point it is still a very good stove and functions well with wood which is what most of us would use it with, Nice series conclusion !

I'm still waiting for the new Lixada folding stove/grill review.

A wire rack and a hot dog would have been fun. It looked perfect for that or for a marshmallow on a stick. I don't like my dogs or marshmallows burnt.

Too much distance between coal and pot. I did the same tests with the larger Lixada, which has the ability to remove the upper section.

Interesting. I can boil a single cup of water in twenty minutes with a single tea candle. Only useful if rain keeps me in a tent. Cheers
