She was correct about Indonesia. The western half of Papua is Asian politically but the island of Papua is Oceanic. The native inhabitants of Papua are not Asian. They are Melanesian and have their own distinct cultures and languages that are not Asian in origin.

Though there is some debate, I've seen multiple sources list the entire island of New Guinea as part of Oceania, which would put part of Indonesia in Oceania. Personally, I would've accepted her answer.
