A singularity is not only the center of a black hole, but also the very first point of tbe universe in the space-time continuum, or in other words, the big bang.

I've always thought that the reason a singularity is postulated to be at the center/bottom of a black hole is because our 3bdimensional universe is bounded and we cannot "escape" to a 4th dimension; thus a all the mass of a star that has collapsed on itself, creating a black hole, hits its boundary in terms of how far "down" it can go.

the singularity in my humble opionion is a point where time and space doesnt exist, its pressed so much its made a hole in the fabric of space time and therfore is nothing. a never ending fall
