I don't know the exact number, but yes, a lot of junior college players get drafted every year. The reason for this is because by going to a JuCo, a player keeps his draft eligibility (he doesn't have to wait til 3rd year). So, a lot of players who believe they are draft ready will go to a JuCo instead of a 4 year college and try to have a good season and get drafted.

True. Check my vids on the bands and the light dumbbell routines. Also, check out Pitching 365

How are you Mr. Madden? i am in the same exact situation that you were once in. Every year i thought i was going to get drafted and i talked to scouts. In high school, i broke the NJ strikeout record and they told me i am too short (5'8")and they want to see me dominate in the college level. I moved on to a juco in west Texas (Howard College) and was the WJCAC Pitcher of the year and All-American with an undefeated record. i still didn't get a call on draft day. i throw 88-92 mph as a lefty with unbelievable command. i walked 8 batters in 80 innings. i am now in a NAIA because my grades aren't the best. next season is my final season and the only thing i want in my life is to continue playing ball. i just wish that one scout can sit down and talk to me and feel how bad i want to keep playing. i will sign for a cheeseburger and work my way up.i just need one chance to prove myself.

My name is Brandon White I'm a 17 year old CF. I just finished my junior year baseball season. I have a great work ethic, I run fast, I have and have pretty good gap power and i aim to hit hard liners everytime. I have been panicking lately about my baseball future unfortunately. I don't know why but I had a terrible junior season batting and it affected me a lot. I think I batted around .230. I batted .387 my sophomore year last year and I know I am capable at the high school level to hit in the .400s. I fixed my problems hitting but I only got two state tournament games in so small sample size for seeing my adjustments. I have the greatest ambition to play D1. I feel realistically my ability is between a low D1 or high D2. My fear is that I'm not going to get offers from the schools I want to go to and that I will have to settle for some terrible school. I'm 5'6" but so is Jose Altuve. My life would be complete if I got drafted. I know its difficult but when it's all said and done I want to have my name affiliated with a MLB team. If you have any answers or tips for anything I said it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm 12 (almost 13) years old and I'm an okay hitter, really good defensive and a hella good pitcher. I consider myself a closer but I'm okay at starting. I'm really good in pressure situations and not scared to pitch to contact and trust my defense. Recently I just had a 6 out save and retired 6 batters. I don't throw hard I reach about 45-49 on a fastball and 40 on a circle change up. I've been working on a knuckleBall and it has little to no spin at all and downwards movement. People say at the rate I'm going I could get drafted as a senior in high school. So in 2023. I've always had the dream to play in majors. I'm trying to make my dream a goal to reality.

I filled them out whenever they gave them to me. Not sure if I filled out the same team more than once or not.

Well, if it were easy, then everyone would get drafted. It is not a matter of hard or easy, there are a lot of other factors that go into it like size, ability, potential, etc. So someone who is 5 ft tall may work his butt off and never be drafted but someone who is 6'5" but super lazy and naturally talented could be drafted high. So, hard and easy don't necessarily describe the draft process well. But I must say, I put in a lot of hard work to put myself in a position to be a draftable

There are some pro baseball players that don't throw over 90, but I will say that most of them have the ability to throw over 90 even if they don't do so often.

Do you need to register for the MLB draft to be eligible ?

You don't "enter" the draft. The teams just decide to pick you. It's not like basketball or football. It's a totally different beast.

Hey John, do you plan on uploading again in the winter time? Thanks for the insight on what hopefully happens in a couple years!

Great vid. My name is Chris Jones and I'm a 17 year old RHP in my Senior year of high school. I throw 81-84 mph fastball and I got a little changeup too. I want the MLB so bad and I'm hoping you could give me some tips. I was told by an Oakland Athletics scout that if I worked on my fastball to about 85-91 they would consider drafting me. Unfortunately, that meant my grades would start to really matter. I am a C averaged student. So I'm fine. I just recently enrolled to Texas to play ball. Wish me the best of luck and I hope to see myself getting drafted soon. Again, any tips, let me know
