Good presentation. You didn’t mention one of the major differences between the awards: the Trillium is judged from what you can see from the from the street (front), whereas the Monarch you can open up your back garden if applicable to the judges. Also, the Trilliums used to be NOT by application or nomination, but that changed in this covid year and due to lack of judges. I know a fair amount regarding both awards, and there are stories that can be told, for sure. I’ve been encouraged to enter the Monarch Awards many times since its inception by its promoters, but I have zero interest in awards or recognition by such entities - it’s just not the reason why I garden, among other things.
