10 Easy Jazz Licks How To Sound Like Jazz

This video is going to give you 10 examples of jazz licks and techniques so that you can get some basic material to sound more like jazz.

I am keeping it really simple so everything is on a Cmaj7 chord and in one position, but you still learn some solid rhythmical and chromatic ideas that you can use in your own playing and turn into your own licks. The examples are in a position of the C major scale that you probably already know and the material is easy to move to other chords along the way.

I thought that the jazz players, after improvising they forget what they played, but here I see something that is actually like a classical music piece. This is a grace to a beginner like me. 🙏❤️

These lines sound terrific... quite frankly it is the kind of approach I am focused on at the moment Learning new lines and adapting into my own live gigs. The tab and audio is very teachable. Thanks Jens!

This kind of videos is fun to play along to. I stream to our TV using Chromecast and sit in the sofa with my classical guitar and play along reading the sheet music.

I think I like this video the most out of all of your videos because I'm not really into jazz but these just let me jump right into it and understand chords.

That was very nice, refreshing change. I wouldn't want every lesson in this format, but one in a while might be nice. Thanks Jens

I'm fascinated by the way you play the Jazz licks and the technical analysis of the theory of Jazz music towards teaching students like me. I know the theory of music but I was unable to understand the Jazz style. After watching your videos, I became confident that I can also play Jazz licks if I practise on the guidelines given by you. Thanks a lot for your guidelines.

As a filthy metal guitarist early on in his jazz journey, this was the perfect video. Love the quick explanations of where the enclosures are and what triads you're making use of. Thanks!

Great format ... quick, well demonstrated and notated. Would love to see more. I could imagine C dominant and minor phrases, as well as major and minor 2-5-1's in the same format. That would be awesome! Thanks for all the shared knowledge.

Thank you very much for this free lesson, Jens. For a beginner as myself 8th note and its triplets are reachable technically with some repetition or just playing slower, but the important part is the idea behind the lines. The explanation in the final section of each lick is a great addition to understand why it works. Great job, you're a wonderful teacher.
