'Feriha' a Turkish drama has a major plot line on imposter syndrome. Feriha created a false identity by lying about her background and wearing second hand designer dresses. Yet she felt so out of the place whenever she tried to mingle with them.

I can't think of a movie right now but there are two books that I can think of;

1. The Secret History by Donna Tartt. After the climax, when Richard was rushed to the hospital, he said; "the lights in the corridor is so bright, it hurts."

2. Lie With Me by Philippe Besson. Here I have three perfect lines that depicts imposter syndrome:

A. "Because you will leave and we will stay."

B. "I will always be the boy who intrigues, not the boy who satisfies."

C. "He goes back to my of a sudden I see a sort of admiration return to his face, but it's a painful admiration; what he likes about me is also what keeps me seperate from him."

I feel like the imposter syndrome is shown quite frequently in movies when the lives of the rich and poor collide or when a person of a low income background explores the world of the affluent and privileged whose lives are a contrast to his. And I think it is a common thing to experience in real life as well. I for instance was raised in a lower middle class family and as I grew up I made a lot of friends, a lot of them from wealthy families. Attending their family functions, meeting their relatives, I often felt this feeling of not belonging there. And I've had other people tell me their experiences feeling the same. Therefore I think it's important to show it in movies as well.

Oh there is one more! It's not exactly the emotion of an imposter but it's closer to the agony of not belonging somewhere. This line is from Olive Kitteridge, last episode;

"This world baffles me, but don't wanna leave it yet."

Although not specifically about Imposter Syndrome... But i feel, in lost of translation, Bill Murray's character is feeling this the whole time. Like why is he even spending time with such a different girl/kid..

In the film Gullu Boy, Ranveer takes steps and measures the bathroom size of Kalki's character's house. Unsure if it's imposter syndrome but he might ask himself so I fit in that place?

As an avid consumer of K movies and dramas, I can say that, to me, Parasite is an overrated movie. But, as we say, beauty's in the eye of the beholder. Regards, from Argentina 🇦🇷.
