4:02, "30 years has gone so fast". Wow, 30 years now instead of 20. People grow up. 😢

My father's birthday is September 30. He passed in 2011. I used to love this song when it came out. But now this song has so much more of a deeper meaning. I feel it Billie!

RIP our fathers.

OMG, He sang it at 3:58 "Like my father's come to pas, thirty years has gone so fast". This year was my father's year 20, too. I remember reading about this song in a magazine, how Billie's father passed when he was 9, and then it was 20 years ago. I remember it since I was 9 too when mine died, and it the song came a few years after that. Now, the song has a particularly special meaning this year for me.

Wake me up when September ends. 💚 I love how people mistake it for 9/11 and not knowing the true reason behind this song. Billie had already planned it years before it was released. It was pre planned around Nimrod but told himself it wasn't appropriate to release it until American Idiot came around because it fit in with the Album. Praying for you Billie. Stay strong bud. 💚

Director: how much autotune do you want?
Billie: No

I didn’t discover Green Day until my sophomore year of high school in 2017. Oh how I wish I could’ve gone to one of their concerts in their prime.

It's so heart warming seeing the crowd helping him play

It’s only in live recordings like this when you can fully appreciate how tender, how sad this song really is.

It’s one thing to listen to the studio version, but it’s completely different to watch them perform with Billie actually struggling to sing the whole song.

I have a very unique history with Green Day. I'm 31 and started listening to them when I was 12, and they just changed my life. Billie's lyrycs helped me through a very depressed adolescence in a way I can't even describe, it was like he wrote the story of my life, of how I felt and who I was. Today my father's death completed 4 years. Also in september, just like Billie's father. I know it all may sound silly, naive or juvenile, but I do feel a connection that goes beyond words with Green Day and I'm thankful for Billie Joe's life. The two best days of my life were the days I got to watch GD live here in Brazil.
Thank you Green Day, thank you Billie Joe

Billie had a hard time that 2nd verse getting out that line. The pain, it never leaves. Always remember them.❤️
