Exploring the SECRET SPACE inside LONDON BRIDGE

Like tens of thousands of people every day, you may have walked, cycled or driven over London Bridge, but did you know you can go through it?

Underneath the roadway, the bridge is made up of eight hollow reinforced concrete boxes which form the structure of the crossing.

Opened in 1973, London Bridge is the latest version of the original Thames crossing, having replaced a Victorian structure which in turn replaced the mediaeval stone bridge.

The bridge, along with four others, is looked after by City Bridge Foundation, a 900-year-old charity which is also the capital's biggest independent charity funder.
