11:11 yes bring back the 40's & 50's. I still do that style. Forget 90's & Y2k. I was old enough to remember it the first around. Been there, done that. Create your own trends & forget the catwalk.

When you said, when is the 40s and 50s style is going to come back, I will wake up then, that’s exactly how I feel. I wear the same things as you do. I wear a lot of hats. I have a clean, classic minimal wardrobe and I’m keeping it that way. I did a little cargo pants and a safari top from Banana Republic and it does look cute for the summer . 😊

The flowy trousers and relaxed tailoring are fine. I love beige and tan neutrals. The metals and some florals are nice too. The rest are abysmal. Really comical video!

I couldn't agree with you more!! Everything looks so messy with a few exceptions. It also feels like models are getting skinnier and skinnier. They look like Minnie Mouse with stick legs and huge shoes. I'm with you on wishing for the 40s and 50s and I like the 30s as well. Why don't women want real elegance anymore? You’re so funny! I totally agree with you on everything. My style is classic all the way do most of what’s out there doesn’t appeal to me. I too would love for the 40s and 50s to come back. Women’s clothing was the most beautiful glamorous feminine during that era more than any other. Great video as always!

Wonderful! This is the best fashion sound bite I’ve heard in ages: “Make it a nod, not a slap in the face!” I agree with everything you said, there is just not a lot to love this season. I don’t even like denim, it’s not elegant, interesting or even comfortable. I have three “must have” denim jackets, but I’ve never even worn one of them once, they’re in my purge bag. I do have a pair of white jeans, my only exception, but only wear them when absolutely nothing else will fit the occasion. Trends really come from designers, not from us, and the only reason for them is to make us feel out of style and buy new things. If they must recycle trends, any era would be better than the fashion dead zone of the 2000-2015 period. The Safari trend is good, as are the more fitted blazers (few and far between) and other good tailoring, the metallics, and the neck bow or soft tie. I’ll continue in my classic, elegant fashion world along with friends like you and this community.

The only cargo pants I’ll wear are my silk ones (Lily Silk), the soft fabric is smooth, drapey and breathable and most importantly, elegant. I wouldn’t wear cargos in a stiff cotton, they stick out stiffly and are so unflattering, or nylon parachute pants, baggy, ugly and hot! I’ve only been buying high-quality natural-fiber fabrics for years now and have the best wardrobe of my life, it’s not only beautiful, but comfortable, too.

Looking forward to your take on 2024 trends - I see a few of the unflattering /not-really-wearable trends have clung on, alas. This is when we remind ourselves that being "fashionable" isn't the same thing as being stylish or chic. We are better off dressing in colours, styles and silhouettes that suit *our* bodies and our colouring. Happy to take a pass on trends that make me ridiculous or less than my best self - and I hope everyone here feels the same. We deserve better than that.
