People have been doing the same thing for ages with high value cars. You’ll notice they all have Montana plates in order to get out of the high registration fees based on the value of the vehicle. Go to RSF cars and coffee on a Saturday and you’ll see 90% of the cars are Montana plated.

I'm in Illinois and got my plates yesterday. Only needed bill of sale and $346 for tax and $206 for sticker. I point needed L DL. Easy peasy.

Sweet. Here in NEW Mexico we have legitimate privately owned branches of the DMV. Since they're private they're 100x more efficient than the government run branches. However there's an extra service fee you need to pay for that efficiency.

So when it comes to OHV's they'll pass nearly anything you bring in as long as it has it's VIN(s), headlight, and tail light. All they want is they're fee whereas the state run DMV will tell you no, stop, and don't.

The Ranger confiscated his plates and fined him heavily and implied that he could have also been charged for title/registration fraud. This is what happens when you get a bloated, super majority of one party government. The problem is not only with vehicles. I have a Moen sink that has a swivel. It began to drip, so I tried to order the parts to fix it, which consisted of 2 O-rings and a nylon piece only to find out the repair parts are illegal in California and cannot be shipped into the state. California is the state that just past massive water restrictions and you would think they would be happy that someone was trying to conserve water, but the brain dead politicians just keep passing legislation with unintended consequences. The only answer is to move out of California before it totally collapses.

I also have a 2 stroke pedal start french moped from the gas recession of the 70's I rebuilt out of a junkyard. With the 70cc top end it goes 67mph and only cost $1, 300 to build. Also it's registered because old-school cali is badass like that

Good on you. I have an m1ps also and the DMV said “it’s beyond our expertise”. So I’m just ballin’ until something happens. To be fair I go really slow, let people pass, and am out in the boons. Suggestion-Take the Eahora stickers off. It’s looks much sleeker

My diy has a VIN number, but I don't need to register it in France, I can restrict it on the go like when I'm in town so no danger.

i have still seen where police in PA will not allow you to ride it on the road even with valid plates and reg. (mostly because it is unable to be inspected and registered in pa as it is) since they kinda know what is going on... it sucks, wish they weren't so strict.
