I think Kubrick depicts intentionally these people in an unspecific way so the viewer can identify them as whoever they choose to or no one we know about it. If he had used an identifiable symbol then they would have been narrowed to one group. His way is more interesting. They are a mystery.

I actually find Eyes Wide Shut scarier than The Shining. The reason is because in The Shining there is essentially just one villain [Jack} and by the end he is very open about how much of a threat he is, but in Eyes Wide Shut there is an entire army of villains and they keep themselves hidden so could jump out and attack you at any moment and that is much scarier to me. Every single interaction Tom Cruise's character has after the party scene is creepy as fuck. Even tuff like the gay conscierge which would normally be no big deal at all, after he has become a target for the cult it all becomes terrifying because they all know who he is but he has no idea who they are. The Wicker Man is another genius horror movie. The reason they are so good is because instead of just one psychopath the hero has to fight an entire army of them. What makes it scary as hell is that it is true to life. A film like Alien is scary but not that bad because I will never meet a killer alien in real life but I have met members of a luciferian death cult in real life (and so have you (: ()) they are all around is. That is why it is so scary. Kubrick was a genius though and he could always still find beauty even in horror and trauma. Like that piece of music with the backwards vocals is stunning and creepy. The party scene is terrifying but the women are also the most gorgeous perfect women that you will ever see.
