Just keep in mind that it can only heat when the air intake temperature is 40 degrees F or above; below 40 degrees F the unit’s safety shut-off feature clicks in as other testers have noted - the workaround is to have a small heater like a My Buddy or Hcalory (loud diesel heater but gets the job done and inexpensive like the My Buddy) - the Wave 2 is the quiet, fast-easy (keep it charged and push a button) way to go for when it’s between 40-100+ degrees F outside, which is most days

Just found this portable unit and wanted to determine it's effectiveness in an 8m highly insulated motorhome, so your yacht cabin looks an ideal comparison and I expected to divide the rooms in the RV into living and sleeping so can reduce the area required to be cooled/warmed. Thanks for a useful honest review.

Can you use it while it's charging?

Thank you for the review, we are going on the road with our new Northern light camper to AZ this winter and want to consider this ECOFlow Wave, we will use mostly for the Air Condition option however your review still has help me understand the quality. Thank you from Michigan

I'm in the same situation you explained at the start of the video. Can you make a video on how well it performs outdoors?: 1. How large is its cooling area when used outdoors, like on a soccer field? 2. It is comfortable to use outdoors? 3. Is it loud/obnoxious to use outdoors, or do you recommend it?

I a tech addict and I have several products from ecoflow. never got any special discount or anything from them.
I was thinking about the wave 2 but there are so many bad reviews out there... But I think is just that, people think that they can put this 5k btu AC on a car without insulation under the plain sun in 110f weather and expect that will cool down perfectly.

I traveled all around us with a lance travel trailer, that had a 13.5k AC. When I was in Arizona in summer, it couldnt keep up. And remember the lance is insulated 4 season trailer. the best that an A/C can do is to lower 20F the ouside temp and that if you have insulation.

So, if the air temperature going trough the condenser is 120, the gas will cold down to 100 in the other side. The BTU will be how big the condensor, compressor and how much gas, so the surface for cooling (the internal radiator and the external condenser) would be bigger, and cover more square feet.

Also specs says "up to 8 hours" on battery, but that is considering that the compressor will be running 50% of the time. like it should be if the size of the room is what it should be for 5k btu. But since people want to cold down a full garage, it wont stop, so instead of 8 hours, will last 4, which is expected.

Does the battery charge if plugged into shore power while running?

Great review. And so nice to see the practical side from a real sailor ⛵
Question: are you venting the hot/cold air out of the boat. Or just using unit 'free standing'. Venting will be difficult and make it less mobile.

Thanks for a great review. I travel with a s m al 19 foot rv behind my pickup truck. With your help, I'm pretty sure we found what we are looking for. Thank you.
Dan.

Thanks Britt that was educational. You said you were in mid winter. If that's the case this video was taken February 2022. If you mean 2023 we are in mid Fall as winter start December 20th.
Anyway date doesn't matter, but this heater/Air Con EcoFlow seems like it will do the trick. Looking forward in upcoming video what your reviews on this will actually be once it's colder.
You, Ryan and Jackson stay safe and warm looking forward to next video

Curious on the exhaust, how do you vent. I guess you pipe out of a porthole how does that work for you guys?

Talked about heating the area but what about cooling?

Trying to cool my RV with limited electric available. Bought the Icy Breeze cooler but only cools with ice for about 2-3 hours. Have to run a generator if running a 115 window unit. My Hessaire swamp cooler does help some. Thinking about buying one.

You spoke about heating, how about cooling?

I would guess that either in heat or cool, the battery life would be affected by the temperature difference between outside and inside. You might want to lower the temperature your heating to and see if it lasts a bit longer.

A diesel heater is much more efficient for warmth. And if you’re in a boat you can get even better 12v AC. But if you can’t install an AC this works best
