2️⃣ Try and compress the summing bus first, eg. The drum bus

3️⃣ Always match the input level to the output level

4️⃣ Release = Tone

5️⃣ Attack = Aggression

love running signals through compressors (no gain reduction) just for their vibe/flavour 👺⚡️ some compressors coloration is in the output knob (gcomp/focusrite red) and other is in the input (vari-mu/fairchild)
