In this video I take you from start to finish of the transmission crossmember that I built for my project. I edited out about 20mins of video and lost about another 10 that didn't get recorded due to not having enough video storage. Hope you enjoy the video and I hope it serves as a reminder that things aren't always gonna be easy when doing a project. You just have to keep your head up and push through it. Also, I said "essentially" about 4 times and I got mad at the welder. Can you find where in the video? Lol. Be sure to subscribe and comment with questions.

Very nice crossmember.
Wish I saw this before I built mine. I used wood instead of cardboard but you made it look easy..
Thanks for the video

I appreciate your videos. I've had a 2000 zr2 s10 for about 10 years now and as tough as a k5 is, I hate to say it but the frame under a k5 ain't got shit on a zr2 s10 frame. Anyway I'm in the middle of doing an LS swap in the zr2. I was just going to turbo the 4.3L but I let my nephew borrow it one night when it decided to get down to 11° with a wind factor of 8° here in AC. His 89 GTA firebird didn't have heat so I let him use it. Well the next time I drove it, it blew it's guts out of the block. He claims it didn't have enough anti freeze and I'm sure he dawged the hell out of it because it was faster than his half working GTA. Either way it side tracked my plans. Now I'm putting an aluminum block L33 5.3L in it with a 70mm turbo. I needed a truck to drive while I'm doing that build so I picked up an 87 k5 blazer with a 6" all spring lift (no lift blocks) TBI350 with 700r4, 3.73 gears and 32" tires (zr2 came factory with 3.73s and 31s). Once I'm done with the turbo ZR2 LS10 I plan on pulling that sad tbi 350 which made about the same power as my 4.3L (it mames alot less now that it did new) and swapping an LQ9 with a 4l80e or just a heavily built 4l60e so I don't have to deal with drive shafts and shit. Your videos are giving me damn good information and I appreciate the quality of you work and documentation of it. Keep up the great work. BTW, you've got plenty of space for a turbo but since you bought such nice headers, I'd put a bottle on it. LS engine laugh at a 125 shot. Back when my 02 ws6 was box stock with 33k miles on it i was spraying a 125 all the time with a stock tune and i t showed no signs of any damage. Now that it has a very free flowing exhaust I spray a 150 shot and it doesn't show any signs of damage. It just flat out hauls ass. Just a suggestion but LS engines love the gas and they make insane power off a good wet shot. Also a zex kit has a purple bottle and nozzle that matches really close to the color of the truck. Having 125 rwhp or 150rwhp at the push of a button is one hell of a kick in the pants.

My Gosh you really did great job on this project. Question your transfer case what paint did you use or was that brand transfer case really looks nice, Thank you Anthony from Arizona 👍

Nice work! I fabricated one almost identical. Did you go any further with a skid for the transfer case? I’d love to see some pictures.

Nice job on the crossmember. Just found your channel. What colors did you do the body? I'm thinking of a similar combo for my k30. Thanks.

Did you add a brace or support bolted directly to the t case?

Did you save your measurements and or take notes. I think there's a market for your crossmember

I have a th400 and np208 from a 80’s model suburban I plan on using in my 85 k5 blazer ls swap. It came with the factory burb crossmember. I haven’t got to the mock up stage yet but do you think I can use the burb crossmember or should I plan on fabbing one similar to this (which turned out great btw) ?

Very cool! You may have said it and i missed it...what transfer case are you running with your 4l60e? I can't tell. Is it the NP241c?

Good video and I’m wanting to do the same 5.3 4l60e swap into my k5 do you remember the measurements and angles and what kind of square tubing you used for the crossmember?

By the way, what size of square tubing did you use?
I used 3/16" thick and 2" squared.. Hope it works 😯
