I am 64. After covid lockdown, friends were surprised to see me looking very elegant. There were few things that covid lockdown did to me were lose weight, change hair style, and watched videos like this. There were no hairdressers so, I cut my hair. The result is fantastic. Videos like yours helped me a lot. I kept my elegant look. Thanks to you.

You make it sound so simple 😊I’m going to keep trying. At almost 67 it’s difficult to know what to wear and not look like your trying too hard or to not look frumpy. Also love your makeup. So tired of seeing all the influencers with so much makeup and overdone eyebrows/eyelashes.

My northern French grandmother would make my sister, cousin and I walk around her large house with 3 books on our heads, and even going through doors we could not let the books fall. If we did we would have to do it all again until it was perfect. We all ended up with perfect posture. Though working many hours on the computer all day I may need to try that again. Even if you have no wealth or education you can walk amongst kings with a good posture.

When I was in Paris, we stayed 8days, stayed in an apt, and walked every where, or took the subway. We saw thousands of people and I was surprised on what they wore. Mostly jeans, t shirt or white top with sneakers. I was expecting more dressy outfits. I personally dress nice every day living in the states. On vacation I wore silk skirts and tops with flat comfortable dress shoes.

😂😂 I always told my daughter the same thing you have said, clean hair, clean teeth, light make-up, clean clothes. We have a funny saying here in the UK
" make sure you have clean underwear on, just in case you have an accident 😂 "
Good advice video 🌹🌹

My “tip” for, looking “put together “ is to remember that your outerwear should always be considered when getting dressed for the day — by this I mean that your coat (when wearing one) and scarf, hat, etc should coordinate with whatever you are wearing underneath, as often what’s underneath will be seen at the same time. Your coat should be a part of the total look.

My grandmother always said "you can tell a lady by her shoes". I am also 67 and that comment has stuck with me and influenced me since i was a little girl!

Good morning. Such excellent advice, Frédérique, and well taken by an 80 year old. There were 3 stand outs for me. First, cleansing your face morning and night. Such good advice, and something I have been preaching to my granddaughter since she was very young. Second, sunscreen. In my youth, there was not sunscreen available with high SPF and what was available washed off with the first water contact. As an ocean lover in my younger years, and a South Florida lady now, I am paying for this lack of protection. And third, posture. 15 years ago, I fractured my back and it was not diagnosed. Now I am bent forward at about a 25 degree angle. So no matter what I wear and how chic it is, my posture destroys any look. What they say about not appreciating something until it is gone, is so true; so to me good posture is on a par with cleanliness about my person. Thanks again, you are such a delightful person; you make your followers feel valued.

I am 61 (almost 62) and have cared for my skin since I was 18. Occasionally I take off my glasses during a conversation and get comments like "how do you make your skin glow like that? How come you don't have any wrinkles?!" That's a confidence booster. I like doing my hair, wearing some make up and always earrings every day. If I realize I forgot to put on earrings for some reason I feel naked! But the whole shoes thing is an issue. I have osteoarthritis in my feet which is disabling sometimes. I have the most support and comfort in specific sneakers. So I keep my style simple and casual so the shoes don't look out of place. Thank you for your videos. I like your genuineness and how your personality shines through.

My wonderful friend Dana who was my regular hairdresser for many years told me, “Even when you dress casual you look dressed up.” One of the kindest compliments I’ve ever received.

Credit should go to attention to detail. The right makeup look and appropriate accessories for the outfit and occasion, clothes in impeccable condition (even if they’re t-shirt and shorts) and the right shoes in good repair, are all important to looking polished.

One thing about shoes. They do have to be comfortable. If you’re in agony in your shoes, it won’t matter that your makeup and clothes and jewelry are beautiful. The beauty won’t translate through the painful shoes.

I used to sell shoes at a high-end department store and I promise there are cute shoes that are also comfortable!

Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. You talking about keeping your hair well-groomed, I remembered a scene yesterday. I was at sephora and I smelled dirty hair from a girl next to me. I thought at the time: Please wash your hair first, before buying makeup. A woman can be super well dressed and if her hair is poorly maintained or dirty it destroys her image.

My beauty tip: Oil pulling with coconut oil, even just once per week for 20 minutes does so much to help your teeth stay sparkling white! I drink red wine, tea and coffee, so I know this works. I get compliments from my dental hygienist on how white my teeth stay between cleanings. Loved this video, Frédérique, thank you mama!

I have 32 pairs of shoes which I think is plenty! I recently got a closet organizer and my things look so nice. I had them put the shoes in the middle so they’re on display. I have a small capsule wardrobe. I love it because I am retired at 67 how many clothes do you really need?? Everything I have now is high-quality and simple. I use accessories to make them look outstanding. I have only eight purses which is enough for me. I love your videos because you’re not constantly pushing to buy new things. I have everything I need and I love it! It never goes out of style because it’s classic.

Thank you Frederique! I have been watching and following you for a long time now and I have to age 50 I get so many compliments on my sophisticated, flattering, timeless. And it's all thanks to YOU, for helping me to understand shapes, lines, colors (or lack thereof) and simplicity! I have always adored the look of French women, women who look effortlessly put together. And for the first time in my life, I feel like I am one of those women! :) Please, keep your videos coming! I have recommended you to so many of my friends and family! <3

Aaaaa the dirty ponytail for days felt too personal for me 😂
I keep telling myself that I’m “training” my hair so I can wash it less frequently but… one of these days I’m going to admit to myself two and a half years of washing my hair less frequently didn’t do anything. My hair gets oily just as quickly as it used to before Covid and the luxury of working from home.
Years ago I made a rule for myself: when in doubt - wash it. That’s about hair again. Too many times I looked at myself in the mirror in the morning assessing if my hair is good enough for another day. And after deciding it was, too many times I regretted it later in the day.

Thank you Frederique for your great advice. I love how you educate us! I’m 41 and I’ve never dressed this chique. People compliment me often now. I’m loving my style. Thanks again! I adore you!

Frederique you made me remember my parents, , truly good advice. WWE all need this advice you gave. My mother said clean clothes and shoes, nothing torn, no threads out, stained, nor wrinkled no matter if you are rich or poor. My father said clean and polish shoes every week. I change the pillowcase everything I wash my hair. By the way you look like your glowing, so nice.

I’m 62 and don’t have any wrinkles or visible aging yet, most people don’t believe I’m not in my late 40s. I’ve never used any skincare products, except for moisturizing, high SPF sunscreen every single day since my early 20s and before that, I never purposefully tanned. After my first field season as a young geologist, I realized that my skin wasn’t going to last unprotected, and I was only doing my face, so I had a darker, reddish V on my upper chest and neck from the openings of my shirts. Since then, I’ve always applied sunscreen, every day year-round, to my neck and upper chest, as well as my face, and any other parts of my body that might catch any sun, like feet, arms or shoulders. Most women my age have leathery, spotted, wrinkled décolletages, it’s such a mark of aging. The skin there is super-thin and delicate, so it needs extra protection. My only regret is that I didn’t start using sunscreen as a child and teen, but it really wasn’t around until the late 1970s, maybe (I turned 20 in 1980). Also, I got one vicious sunburn accidentally when I fell asleep for hours in the sun, it was that time of month and I just dozed off. Most of the sun damage I do have is from that. Dermatologists always say it’s the cumulative daily exposure that’s most important, as well as not deliberate tanning, and that every sunburn dramatically increases the chance of skin cancer. My Dad’s always having to have his squamous cell skin cancers removed, I’m trying to prevent that, too, they have had to make some very deep, disfiguring surgeries. I’m always trying convince teens and young women to start using SPF daily, with some success. Some complain about it’s “greasiness” causing acne, so I recommend non-comedogenic ones, like Oil of Olay daily (something like that), which I’ve used for years. In winter I use a minimal SPF, unless going out for my walks, etc. A little sun on the body is good to keep Vitamin D levels up, so I let my legs tan a little. But, light from the sun is radiation and it does break down skin tissue.
