My speech to the House in the debate on 1950s women and the state pension age (WASPI debate, House of Commons, 14/12/17):

"[The WASPI women] deep down know that where there is a will, there is a way. Please give these women the future that is rightfully theirs, and when they do win they will not be grateful but they will be glad that they did not give up."

Laura you put the case of injustice just perfectly.
This govt do not realise but most importantly do not want to realise the complete robbery that has taken place.
But these women won't forget!!
They will appreciate the effort you have made voicing their concerns trying to right the wrongs.

Thank you Laura for your heartfelt speech to support WASPI ladies. As a woman who should be approaching my retirement (with another 6 years added) I feel totally worthless, under valued and unheard by the Parliamentary dinosaurs who appear to be making up the rules as they go along to make up for their own failings, shortsightedness and negligent administrations, with 1950s women paying the price. Women have fought so hard over decades to become independent in their own right and now we are being forced to depend on husbands/partners/relatives to put a meal on the table. It is nothing short of criminal how we have been treated. I feel we have gone back a century in time fighting for our rights. It's absolutely scandalous with very little media coverage.

Thank you Laura. I was born in mid-October 1960 and, if I've read it right (although I'm not sure) just as I almost reach retirement, it is pushed forward and then, just as I nearly reach it again, it's pushed forward again!! I certainly was NOT informed by letter from DWP. Thank you for speaking up for us. [Stockton-on-Tees, Co Durham].

Not only is raising the pension age to 67 a disgrace, since most of this lot will probably be getting massive pensions relative to their £77k pay and then if they're lucky, retirement in the warm retirement home which is the House of Lords where you can check in and out and still get paid your £300 a day plus expenses, and if you do choose to stay, sleep there and get free food and heating. When you get that kind of money very few of them understand what it is like to struggle to make ends meet and worry if you can afford to have the heating on since previous governments have let the gas and electricity companies be sold to foreign buyers instead of keeping profits in UK and re-investing them into our own country.

The pension retirement issue has been a long time coming, if either party gave a long term damn the age requirements should of been set a lot longer in the future, its been known about for at least 2 decades.

Women Live 4 years longer on average then Men and pay less years in tax and NI factoring child birth. Why isn't a women's pension age 4 years older than men age 71 as I can't get my pension until age 67 and will draw it for less years
