wow! i feel like you guys have recently been posting stuff exactly when i need it! I have a 9 week old gsp and he’s training motivated and has known a handful of commands since 6 weeks so now we’re wanting to introduce him to gun fire and birds so this is perfect for us!!!

Wow was that fun to watch!!! A lock on the second bird! So cool to see different dogs reaction or even different pointing dogs reaction. I had a brittany 20 years ago and it was a little difficult to get him to that first point. I now have my second pointing pup but this one is now a 4.5 month old GSP. Put her on a quail at 10 weeks and she had the hunt and the catch and carry/retrieve down already. haven't done a drill since but she is ready to try what you just did. interested to see if her instinct to point is way more intense than my brittany was.

WONDERFUL! Feral pigeons are easy to catch where they roost under bridges. After dark, I catch them easily with a headlamp and landing net. Attach the landing net to a telescopic pole with a couple of radiator clamps and good to go. Feral pigeons are free and will not land for pup to chase. Telescopic poles are sold at hardware stores for pruning saws.

YAWA Question: What is the difference between the pigeon drill and something like "wing on a string". I understand that wing on a string teaches "sight points", does overdoing the positive pigeon work enforce a similar behavior?

YAWA Question: My Breeder didn't remove my labs "dew claws" (spelling). We will be hunting him do you recommend removing "dew claws"? He is a 10 week old lab we are thinking about doing it when we get his stomach tacked at about a year of age. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Would this drill work with pheasants? They are the only bird I have access to that I can buy for training. I can buy young birds or adults

Woohoo first few comments! When will you do a flusher like a spaniel? I have a one year old field bred English cocker I've trained by watching a LOT of your videos, but I'd love to see you guys work a very high drive flushing dog!
