A delay effects pedal for your electric guitar is a must. In this video we're building the "Small Time Delay" - a DIY pedal kit with a small, but very cool feature. We're building all the electronics, design and paint the enclosure and of course record some demo sounds.

You can order the kit, enclosure and some knobs here:

I've made a number of PT2399-based delay units, and built/modded a number of BBD-based delays. One of the things I like to do is provide additional treble cut in the repeats. This more closely (though obviously not *accurately* ) mimics what happens to reflected sound in the real world, as later reflections have high-frequency energy "eaten up" by imperfect reflecting surfaces, carpets, and other objects. The trick is to use only a single pole of lo-pass filtering, and pick the corner frequency right, such that there is still some treble left to be progressively filtered out with each repeat. One of the perks is that it also reduces the grittiness that comes from the signal being encoded and decoded (or re-sampled, in the case of BBDs) multiple times. It also does a nice job of moving later repeats to the perceptual background so that you can dime the repeats without having the result feel too cluttered.

I've been building and modding pedals for about 5 years (well modding for 10+ years but building from scratch for about 5 years) and I have done plenty of difficult builds from scratch some with my own Vero layouts. But in all this time I'm still using a label maker and Sharpe to "decorate/label" them lol. I've worked as a painter and regularly do painting around my own home but I just haven't wanted to paint an enclosure until I know I've got the right method and tools. I've painted tones of wood but not metals like aluminium. Id like to powder coat them. But I should really start trying some soon cause I'd love to get all my bare enclosures finished and i have a few guitar painting related projects I'd like to do. But I'm way more comfortable with painting a guitar it's just a lot of work if I do it the way I would need to do it to be happy with the results. Anyways just rambling lol. Great video!

Awesome build. Very nice video. It’s not easy to video close up shots of PCB building.

Leider wird die Platine weiterhin zu groß geliefert / oder das mitgelieferte Gehäuse zu schmal produziert.

Hey love your work with Behringer - dude from the chat sent me over.

You soldered the resistors from the top. Is that always ok to do or dependent on the pads?
