I'm 64 just starting. No problems other than building up stamina.

Inspirational. I am 54 and have previously practiced aikido in my 40s and karate when i was very young. I am looking at start BJJ at some point soon. I watched the movie Jujitsu vs the world a while back, and there were guys who started training Jujitsu in their late sixties, so i guess i am but a spring chicken !

It was so helpful at that tournament to see people in their forties and fifties and up competing, when I am just starting out in my 40s. Humility is definitely a key component, remembering that I'm not in my twenties and my body is not in its twenties lololol proper nutrition and ddpy are good for evening that out a bit

..is the average 55 yr old guy...going to get up at 2 AM ???I wouldn’t class this guy as your average old joe...beginning martial arts at age 55..for the first time.He is an exceptionally motivated fella that doesn’t represent the norm.IMO.

In regard to injury prevention and recovery, would you say an activity like yoga is necessary or just optional?
