Honestly this is good to know. One of my gerbils was nervous and shy at first and got used to be fast by coming up to me and eating from my hand. My other one aka his non blood brother, was more shy and still is but he's coming out of his shell more. Nice to know about the eye thing I think it's so amazing that they react to the eyes.

I have had a pair of gerbils for around 2 yrs (truffle and cotten 🐹) but as of recent cotten passed and truffle has been very nervios even with her 40 gal tank and cage topper with plenty of toys so until I can try to adopt a new buddy for her I have been trying to bond with her thanks for the help!
