on that configuration he can run GTA4 on high maby veryhigh, also depends from chosen resolution and harddrive speed, overclocking etc

@mikr0bas you can change your CPU to a P8XXX and P9XXX (better with 1066 MHz FSB)
i'm not shure about Q9000 and Q9100 but PM45 platforms supports this processors

but it is too expensive like GPU changing
you can overclock p7550 like i did

now my CPU works at 2660 MHz and 1333 FSB MHz with 8x mutlipl

but processor is the same, and your p7550 should work at 1333 FSB too

@MarcoBG2010 you should look to the processors from top versions of 5739G - P8700 (2.53/1066) and maby P8400 (2.26/1066) / P7550 (the same to P8400 processor, but without virtualisation and with some lower TDP). Acer bios should works with them.
Any way if you can test processors you can try something from T9xxx, but i dont know how matherboard will work with them (technically supports, but how systemically - dont know). Can you send more information of your MB when you will recieve notebook?

@ALeX1sUA Thanks for you reply AleX1sUA, I will try to purchase a P8700. A friend has a 5739G and it came with a P8700, 500GB and Blu-Ray drive. (5739G-874G50Bn) and it's working perfeclty (just found out). I will run Everest to let you know the exact motherboard model.

I am quite positive towards the upgrade; hope it all goes well when I receive it.

P8700 2500MHz 1066 FSB - little faster
P7450 1066 FSB - little bit slower
P7350 2130MHz 1066 FSB - little slower
T6600 2200MHz 800 FSB - the slowest pocessor in 5739G serie

Dell is the best way if u can spend more money at least 1100$
Acer AS5750G-2634G75Mnkk 900-1000$ - will be the cheaper

@ALeX1sUA I already thought about newer models, but I don't really like the design n the new series, I personally like the 5739g (apart from the hardware) because of its design and the Tuba/CineBass feature. for somebody this game will be pleasant to play, somebody didn't like it
as for me, gta4 was the place where i can make some tricks
in total i've pussed not more then 10 missions, and i didn't bought this game

240m is good to (i have the same card), but 48 cuda vs 96 cuda in 540m... 10-20% more perf.
i7 720qm 15-20% slower then i7-2630qm - syntetic benchmarks

SetFSB 2.2.129.95 - find SLG505YC264BT clocker and set 4/6 too 5/6 - "333.3/666.7/100.0/33.3MHz"
CrystalCPUID415 set multipl to 8, because 8.5 not stable with 1333MHz FSB

@MarcoBG2010 better search newer model then 5739 (it is an a 2009 year model), now existing more powerfull notebooks with not so big difference in price
i can't say something about shops, because i'm from ukraine ... and dont know foreign e-shops exept ebay / amazon ... maby there you will find an interesting models

Bad news, I actually thought I was going to win the bid (it was an eBay listing) but I didn't. Do you know anywhere I may get a 5739G? Even if it's a shop, or an ebay member... or any other website? I'm quite desperate to purchase this notebook but I just can't find it at all...
