How Much PSU Wattage is Actually Needed? Have you ever been to Best Buy and had an employee tell you that you need a 1000w power supply for your RTX 4070 Ti? Well, don't listen to them! In this video, I'll explain why this advice is complete overkill for most people. Even if you have a power-hungry 13th gen Intel CPU, you still don't need that much power. Instead, I'll share with you my budget-friendly combo of a Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 2060 and show you how to estimate your wattage using PC part picker. So don't waste your money on unnecessary hardware and definitely don't listen to that Best Buy employee

Newegg and pcpartpicker both have a great estimated wattage calculator, just use that instead of guessing what you'll need based on your graphics card.

recommending watts is meaningless, you have to look at amperes, a good quality 12v 36A power supply (450W) is sufficient for 90% of mid-range systems.

CPU+GPU usage x 1.5 = your recommended PSU watts

I’m rocking a 5800X3D and a 4090 with a Corsair SF750 W

I wouldn't use this, doesn't account having for example a really hungry CPU that can take 100 watts, fans take power, if you have disks take that into account too and peripherals also.

I have a evga 500w 80gold and run 6700xt with 4790k just fine, you don’t need a 1000w power supply. 650 will run any mid range Pc

So theoretically if I have a 650w psu I can run a graphics card that the minimum is around 500 to 550

Bro there are CPUs that can use more than 300 w 50 -100 are way to less the better way just type your components in a psu calculator

That 650 w only gpu and rest so we need 1000w for future build
