Demonstration on how to change themes and colours on ESXi hypervisor version 8 released in late 2022. ESXi is an enterprise-class, type-1 hypervisor developed by VMware for deploying and serving virtual computers. As a type-1 hypervisor (often known as a bare metal hypervisor), ESXi is not a software application that is installed on an operating system; instead, it includes and integrates vital OS components, such as a kernel.

Please note, vSphere is a product suite marketed under that name by VMware company. ESXi is a hypervisor installed on the physical machine.

As of Feb 12, 2024, VMware vSphere Hypervisor (free edition) is no longer available as VMware has been bought by Broadcom. This is unfortunate for home labbers as well as for students. However, Proxmox Virtual Environment is a complete, open-source alternative option for Type 1 Hypervisor. I am planning to create tutorials on Proxmox Virtual Environment in the near future. Good bye VMware!
