They weren't called Egyptians back then. They were called Kemites. Egypt was the name given after they were conquered by Europe. Before it was called Kemet. And the real name of the text was called Coming Forth By Day; not The Book of the Dead. They didnt have a word for death. The closest English word that they used for "death" was WESTING (because the sun sets in the west). And just like the sun, it rises in the east (reincarnation). The Kemites knew of the monad.
