Why didn't they try making the chess-like game shown in Episode IV? It wouldn't solve the camera and lag issues, but it seems like a giant missed opportunity.

It's a shame it's so poorly optimized. When I was a kid I loved this concept though. I always dreamed of having Battle Chess. Of course, looking back as an adult, it was probably good I didn't get it. I probably would have played it for five minutes and turned it off. Back in the day though, the concept seemed so cool.
