I think self driving cars are great! No car payment since all cars will be provided by the manufacturers, no insurance since we are not driving and the manufacturers are liable since it’s their car and their software that is driving the car, no fuel costs since it’s the manufacturer’s car, no maintenance cost since it’s the manufacturer’s car, no garages or charging stations needed at our homes since it’s the manufacturer’s car, no need for parking lots at work, stored, or airports since it’s the manufacturer’s car, no need for public gas stations or charging stations since it’s the manufacturer’s car, no need for multiple cars for different purposes since we can order up any type of vehicle owned by the manufacturer, far fewer cars will be on the highway since we will ride share wherever we go. We will only pay a mileage fee for actual usage which is great since we’ll use transportation far less since we will be working from home or local multi-organization work hubs and we certainly won’t be going out for a ride. There will be a consolidation of vendors worldwide which will result in far fewer standardized models with no options. Interiors will be designed for durability so that daily interior hose-downs in automated cleaning facilities that are owned by the manufacturers. Most transportation will be via rail with only the last short distance via cars. Finally utopia will be within our grasp!

Might as well just be a passenger. If I had it, I wouldn’t use it. I want to drive. I want to be in constant control. But that’s my opinion. As long as I can just turn it off, I’m fine with it.
