My father, whose dad was a baker by profession, was taught to make Hot Cross Buns for Easter. Every Good Friday of my life we had them. He even brought me some to the hospital when my son was born. He's gone now and last year I tried to make them. Still a work in progress for me but yours look amazing! Thanks for sharing!

While the recipes are not what I grew up with, the overall atmosphere and spirit and busyness takes me back to holidays of my childhood. A very nostalgic video!

I have been craving a holiday video like this. I am so excited to try your orange salad and the corn dip. I love how much magic the art of home making brings to lives. Making special dishes on holidays and having special traditions are what create some of the fondest memories. Thank you. I look forward to more holiday videos and family fun.

I love your Little house on the prairie dress! It is adorable! Mr. Toddles helping in the kitchen! Love it! I have 4 sons and 3 love to bake and cook. 1 is a professional chef. Other 2 just love being in the kitchen!

I love the holiday meal prep videos! Just went shopping for the last few bits for a big brunch on Saturday and the Easter feast on Sunday! We always host the whole family for Easter Sunday, but since my birthday was last week we pull that into the brunch celebrations. Love this time with family and love your recipes - I’m going to make that jalapeño corn dip and it is a guaranteed hit ☀️ God’s blessings on this very special weekend!

and... I am so happy you made the funeral potatoes with shredded potatoes.... I've never made it, but after seeing a few recipes for it lately, was wondering if I could make it with the 2 lb bag of shredded potatoes in my freezer - so glad to know I can... and... what a great idea to use the cheddar cheese soup!!!!

Way to go trying out the hot cross buns. We use scissors to snip a cross in the buns before they rise and then after the buns are baked and cooled we pipe the cross in with butter cream.

Oh, man, I didn't see that coming with the actual cross 😂 It's usually what looks like a plus sign, a traditional "cross" shape. Love your channel. I'm eying those planners!

I’ve started baking with a sourdough starter. For some reason I thought it would be difficult, but it’s not. Everyone who bakes should try it. Once you get a good established starter, it’s really easy. I keep mine in the fridge and try to make something with the starter once a week. I usually take most of my starter leaving about 2 tbs behind. Then add about 1/2 cup of flour and about 1/3 cup of water and mix well. I let sit on the counter for about 4 - 6 hours and put back in the fridge. This way I always have some sour dough starter ready to use.

I've only had hot cross buns with currants. Also the cross was put on after baking, it was made with milk and powdered sugar and applied when the buns were cool.
