This is so interesting. I used to believe in learning styles, but this video showed me that there's a multitude of ideas and possibilities out there and they're all constantly evolving.🔥 Awesome video, Justin!

Many years ago, when I was a teacher, my kids would tell me: "Cook, I'm a kinaesthetic/auditory/etc learner." I would say: "When you go to work and a new method comes down, what form are the directives/directions going to take?" My point was that when you are no longer in school, life does not care. Maybe some parts of the world do now, but I haven't seen it -- of course, as I write this, you say this! Therefore, go ahead and work on the methods that will face you in your life after school.

Can apply this to basically anything in life. Fitness, relationships, career, family, friends, quality of life, state of mind, etc...
Things that are transformative take time. Tips and tricks CAN help, but if you want the heavy hitters: It. Takes. Time.

i have aphantasia and i cannot remember diagrams or any other visual things, but the learning style test my high school gave me (a few years back) said i was a visual learner, that moment i knew it was all bullshit

To me is all about having a good memory… not learn all by memory, is improving the long term and short term memory.

15:36 I can't agree more.... It took so much research and experimentation to finally upgrade my learning system....

I now believe that I am almost 2 - 3 times better than I was before...

and that is a lot.... taking in consideration I only studied 2 hrs in 1st year of med school and performing relatively great without

Thank you Dr. Justin❤️ Keep doing what you are doing.... You are changing lives.

The people who are ready to put in the effort will surely get very much better by following your videos

Really interesting and nuanced take on the topic. Would love a professional development session on this at my school where we work through some case studies (best practices vs wasted time for effective teaching).

Oh now I get it, I was looking at it all wrong. It's like skill and tallent where if you only rely on tallent you think you can't outgrow it when it's really mostly responsible for the earlygame and skill-cap. But saying tallent does not exist is also kinda stupid. Similar thing with learning styles, you can do the other stuff, work with what's available and use but not overly rely on your specific strengths. It would have taken me way too long to figure this out by myself, glad you put this out there Dr. Sung!

There are hiwever people who hafe difficukty processing auditory info or visual written info both might be labked dyslexic. You do go find a text book or auditory formate that explains it in the aay you need you do ask your boss for adjustments in the way instructions are provided!

As a neurodivergent with a neurodivergence that is not fall into the usual autistic spectrum or A.D.H.D, I will be personally thankful if you will dedicate a Vido about the learning possibilist that are available for those like me who are so far from neurotypicality that the study & learning tips for Those on the autistic spectrum or dealing with A.D.H.D aren't beneficial for us. At the end of the day, a lot of "simple daily tasks" require from me enormous amount of learning.

Justin. This is something that would really help me and probably a lot of people. If you would create a task, which everyone can try, trough a link in the description. In which you present information about a subject in a couple pages (how many you think necessary). Where you challenge the person to create this hypothesis of the big picture in a mindmap and then when they are done, they can see your solution. Which would be the most effective or best or correct way they should've made the hypothesis for that set of pages. I think that would give people a concrete idea of what they should be looking for when trying to create a hypothethical group when studying. And also helping them to see what they thought wrongly or correctly. And even those who really dont get it at all.

Personally, that would definitely help me.
