I guess lots of people were unaware that you could set your notification to not show the contents until your phone is unlocked. It would just show a notification from the app, but not display the contents of said notification. These changes however are welcomed. As not you’ll have a much more traditional always on display.

I like it in concept. My problem with the always on display is that it always looks on. Being able to turn off the wallpaper should help with this.

Hey Andrew, for that specific issue, why not just turn off message preview on a locked screen? That way no details are shown until you actually want to see them.

I like the wallpaper on the AOD, nothing wrong with it.

I think it’s s bit of an exaggeration that everyone was complaining about Apple’s AOD. I’ve had an iPhone 14 Pro Max since launch and I’ve enjoyed the AOD just as it is. People love to complain about everything. The notification complaints are silly when u can set them to not show while locked.

Personally I didn’t mind that my wallpaper was displayed even when my phone was locked. As for the notifications, I have it so previews are only available once Face ID recognizes me. Great video.

Next thing that Apple should develop is a way to hide the dynamic island... like an option to keep it under the display when you do not want to see it

I don’t think it’s so much as a “fix” as it was a design choice initially to how it worked. They just decided to give more options is all. Yet anther design choice and not a “fix” per say haha

Has anyone made a battery drain test for this new update?

By default, the content of notifications only shows if the phone is unlocked. If you can read the notification while the phone is locked, then you have set it up that way by choice and it has nothing to do with the always on display. On my phone, when it’s locked, I only see the name of the app that sent the notification and the word notification written below it, that’s it. As for the wallpaper, I actually like that I can see it. When you say ‘people’ don’t like it, who are you referring to? Hope it’s not only you and your friends 🤭

Hi my iPhone 14 pro max is up to date software and I can’t find this option it’s only one click of turn it on or off when I turn it on I can’t see any other options

When did you get IOS 16.2 and I don’t have in my iPhone 14pro Max and There is no more update from iOS 16.1.1. I feel battery finish quicker than before within 3 weeks

wow, that seems like a no brainier from a previous Samsung user having access to aod for literally years already. I have an iPhone 13 pro max and i just cant believe it didn't come with AOD.
