I just bought a MacBook Pro 14in with M3 Pro chip for collage and dont think ima trade it in for m4 just yet I might wait a bit longer

USB a is an essential port or dongles would not be a thing.
No one complained about USB a ports.

I run a 16 Gb M1 Mini and its HDD is full, but otherwise it does the photo and light video editing I need. I will assess the new Mini on the basis of performance and see if I think it is worth the upgrade combined with a larger internal drive than I have. I’ll say this I have not had good luck with external SSD s for either Time Machine or general backup. Both tend to disconnect or even fail. So I may upgrade even if I don’t actually need the performance.
