10 years later, we have more debt than ever, public sector workers have had their real terms pay cut by 40%, & the rich have gotten much, much richer.

@TahoeVista I would be the first to say that the bankers didn't cause this crisis, although they made a number of mistakes. To answer your question, the government should leave the EU, decommission Trident, scrap ID cards, withdraw all foreign aid, freeze public sector pay, cut the quangos and non-jobs, reduce the size of parliament, abolish devolved assemblies and privatise government services.

The government has not got a grip on debt at all. They are cutting public spending in completely the wrong areas and nowhere near deeply enough. Instead of leaving the European Union and beginning a program of mass privatisation, the government has decided to build fewer prisons and put less police on the streets. Where are their priorities?
