He is so cute! With my puppy, you just have to get really good at watching their signals, and taking them out. Another thing is getting them to go 'on command' meaning connecting the words 'go potty' with doing their business. My pup has gotten really good with this however still struggles having accidents at 1 1/2 years old. Mainly because we were not to the door fast enough for her.
For crate training, I have seen some really good instructions and tips on Youtube where you can ease them into making it their safe place. My pup is fully crate trained and when I say 'place' she knows its her kennel. 'her safe place'
Something that has also helped me, is teaching my dog to 'speak' and incorporating that into when she speaks at the door I will open it and she goes potty. (can also do this with a bell, again lots of videos with training tips!)
All in all, dogs are super smart and loads of fun! Enjoy the new adventures!

Get some treats, and at the same time every night or whatever bedtime you want for him, you give him the treat. He will catch on that its time to go sleep in a few days. I've done this trick many times, and it works like a charm. Cute puppy!

Tip: when he uses it outside give him a treat so he’ll know that is the right things to do and that he’s being a good boy

Omg Charlie is so cute! We just got our puppy Simba three days ago and are in the same boat! I've been watching A LOT of Rachel Fusaro's puppy videos on YouTube and they have been a life saver! She recommends making his crate feel like Disneyland and it's been working for us so far!

When whining in the crate just ignore him and he will start to understand that whining will not let him out of the crate. But also every 30 minutes/ 1 hour let him out for his business.
Also when you let him out in the garden for his business tell him to go to the toilet or something like that and ignore him until he does so. Once he has done so, reward him with a treat and tell him that he is a good boy.

Hi Samara, as he gets older and you’ve owned him longer you will start to recognize his body language and know when he needs to go potty and when he’s scared, anxious and hungry so what you are doing is great keep it up.

I took ours out as soon as they woke up, and around every 30 minutes. At night while we were sleeping, I would set an alarm for every 2 hours. When I took him outside, I always repeatedly told them to go potty or go pee/poo until they did and then gave them a treat.

I have some tips too! 1. the most top priority is him going to the bathroom outside! I use treats when my dog goes to the bathroom, make a big deal about it! 2. Get him used to his crate! Make it feel like home! Add things he likes in there! For instance, if he likes toys, add much toys in there! 3. You don’t wanna wake up in the middle of the night with a whining puppy! Tire him out in the middle of the day so he will sleep well at nighttime! You could go outside and play fetch, you could take him out for a walk, or just let him run around like crazy! I would recommend putting in the big crate because he would like more space, and also he can see what’s going on around with the bigger one

Wow, The scenery is beautiful where you got Charlie! I just got my new puppy, Apollo and well…He is most definitely still learning that he goes potty ‘outside’ which I hope I can train him ‘outside’ when I see the signs he has to yk go. He’s a great rough and rowdy puppy. I’m starting a digital/online training so hopefully he will learn his ways. Getting him registered in AKC is the tough thing though!😅 He’s only four months though and I can’t get him his rabies shot so I can’t bring him to the dog park which sucks. He is getting along with my 11 year old chihuahua well though and I’m glad because the whole reason for the dog park is getting to know other dogs so I’m glad that he has another dog to associate with.🤗 I’m glad that you have a new puppy🎉, I hope God brings you and your puppy joy and you have great journeys soon
