The school district this school was under has a protocol on their website that requires teachers at all of the schools to keep the doors closed and locked at ALL TIMES. Yet the school didn’t follow the school districts rules. If they had, the gunman wouldn’t have been able to enter the school in the first place. Why aren’t they being held accountable?? The police chased the gunman straight towards the school and didn’t even bother to notify the school that there was a man near the school with a gun? Would’ve taken 30 seconds to make that phone call. Why isn’t the police department being held accountable??

In Texas, an 18 year old can buy a long gun, but cannot buy a hand gun till they are 21. They say he has “military style” guns and a hand gun. I would like to know more about the case. Because a lot about it does not make sense.
Where are the parents of this child? Why the grandmother was killed? Where did he get the money to buy these guns, and where did he get them? Why did he go on a rampage at an elementary school? How did this happen with all the school security and precautions in Texas schools? The news are all about the crisis. The politicians is about ignoring constitutional rights. If the teachers had guns, we would have a different conversation. Have we forgotten the politicians defunded police and took away the right to defend during mostly peaceful riots around the country? And we allow our politicians to use a crisis when emotions are raw with grief? I don’t understand.

I was with him 100% from the start of his speech up to the point where he asked the nation to pray for the families. After that things got partisan and completely predictable. Here's an idea... how about we start getting serious about protecting our schools. Politicians have armed guards. We can send billions of dollars to foreign countries for their defense. How about we invest in the security and defense of our school children. This can't be about a lack of money, and the answer is not yet more gun laws. I would imagine that there are countless armed military veterans who would volunteer their services for free.

I wrote my governor an email asking her to remove gun free zones. 92% of these tragedies happen in gun free zones. Time to put an end to the madness. Today I see she is going to try and put a police officer in every school. I'm happy something sensible is being done to protect our children.

No matter how touching the speech was, the truth is it is a never-ending tragedy. He can do nothing to truely protect those innocent kids in this country.

Well you know these first 2 minutes of your speech was wonderful. I actually thought ok I. Going to agree with him. But then you had to bring gun laws into play. How about talking about the mentally ill. How about talking how we can combat that. An 18 year old to be in the military and shoot a gun. He can’t buy a beer at18. But they are considered an adult, vote, be in the military. Criminals don’t cRe about gun laws.
