The Cheapest DIY amplifier?

I make a super cheap audio amp, possibly the cheapest you can DIY. It is built around a ridiculously priced IC I found online, and when I saw it costs just 4 cents (that's $0.04), I knew I had to give it a try.

The good news is that the chip works well, despite its low price, and with a few extra components, it can be turned into a cheap amplifier module or become the audio side of a more complex build.

I have used this ic along with standard pam8403 module.
This ic is 8002, class AB mono amplifier ic. It can run upto 2.5 watts of power max. and produce some good sound but will also get hot on playing bass.
Use this if you don't want any distortion and clean amplification.

Pam 8403 is a class D dual channel(stereo) amplifier module. It can therotically put 3w on both channels (so total 3+3 = 6w) but it will distort heavily so say 2.5w on each channels.
(I'll recommend adding 100mF cap on power input)
Since this is class D, its very efficient and doesn't get hot. But it can easily pick up ground noise or any distortions. Also there will be very very slight hiss all the time.
I'll recommend this if you make diy speaker or any amplification where slight noise isn't an issue coz it's powerful than 8002 and doesn't heat.

with a coupling capacitor you could line up the amplifiers to increase power output. Or by placing them in parallel the output would act like a stereo amplifier.

That's amazing best fit for small applications...I had once some plan for an amplifier with two microphones that only amplifies the sound that arrives at both microphones simultaneously. As there is a distance between both microphones, the sound from the side of them can be filtered out perfectly and you get only noise comming from the front and the back. Unfortunately I have lost the link and couldn't figure out how to build it, maybe that was a challenge for your channel 😜✌😎

I found audio specs - 2W at 10% THD (clipping), 1W at 0.2% THD, at 4 ohms.

the fact that we can buy what would have been the most advanced piece of technology if it existed in the start of 20th century, for literal pennies

Jlc is great and all, but the shipping kills prototyping, the price is pretty cheap for a lot of pcbs tho.

How does it compare to these pre-made ones from eBay?

I don't understand the impulse to cheapen something used in low quantities. If you only need a few what difference would it make if it cost $4.
