Cleaning a fluval aquaclear power filter

Cleaning my filter for the second time ever! I took the intake and media out of the filter and rinsed it with some dechlorinated tap water. Do you ever clean your filters, or do you let them stay dirty?

i love my aquaclear filters. one of very few companies that pack a filter with reusable media not those crappy ass carts you waste your money on throwing away.

You don’t clean a filter with the clean water your supposed to do it with the tank water this may song dumb but it’s to keep all the good bacteria in the filter alive it kills them when you put it in the clean water
