I am really confused. I have knitted this way for years, but it's all been super simple straightforward items...blankets, etc. I watched another video where the gal explained that by purling this way, the stitches are being twisted. And then I realized I've been knitting in the back loop, not the front loop. Now, as I'm ready to tackle cables, increases, decreases, etc., I'm concerned that I'll end up with a knitted mess. 😢 Am I worried about nothing? Or do I need to change how I knit when I'm not creating a rib?

This is the way I was thought to knit by my mom. Then I came to know that it's called combination knitting

I feel like I need a video of the opposite of this because I don't understand what this is correcting. This is just how I knit but my edges and rows are not as neat as this.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but this looks like the way I normally knit which is Russian knitting. Is this just Russian knitting or did I miss something?
