Hopefully my cat serves as a living proof that some folding ear cats are just fine like other cats. He is now 4 1/2 years and very healthy. You can click on the cat face to the left to see many videos of him over the year. Right, he is mixed -- half British Shorthair and half Scottish Fold. I don't think pure Scottish Fold cat exists anymore.

My first cat was a fold too, but she was a moggy, not a SF.
Nobody knew she had the Fd gene, i got her from my aunt (I wanted a black cat) and her feral cat had kittens. Only when my cat was one month, it was apparent she was a fold.
She lived 19 years.

I got my little Scottish Fold Alice 3 weeks ago, the little princess is 5 month old now.

She is very affectionate with my kids, Alice follows my 5yrs daughter at every turn. I have never seen a family cat like her and I had 1 persian cat and 3 siamese cats before - the siamese hated kids... 😂

Only thing that could get a problem maybe, are the ears. It seems they are itching from time to time, so we clean them regularly with a special fluid for cat ears...
