I have a 9-year old Fold who is super sweet and affectionate, which plays up to Folds' general characteristics and behavioral patterns. It's true, you cannot leave them alone for long periods of time because they need to be around their owners and feel wanted. My cat has a daily routine (like us humans) and follows me around in the morning and sits with me in the kitchen, stares up at me and blinks because she wants to be petted (and a sign that she loves me) and craves attention. When I get up from the breakfast table she has to walk with me for a while (always in front or alongside of me) before she jumps on the sofa to look out the window. Even at 9, she's pretty active. Folds are prone to OCD so it's important to be on the lookout for this. They are really the best cat breed and I highly recommend getting one. I adopted a 4-year-old female Scottish Fold who had to be rehomed. She's now 6. I find my Whitney to be not very active (lol) and she would rather sleep the whole day. But she is the sweetest and gentlest cat who meows back in the softest voice when her name is called and follows me and household members around. I did notice that her way of walking is different from my other cat which is probably the disposition of her joints and a genetic condition common to the breed.

Thank you for this video, I have a Scotty Fold and she is beautiful, intelligent, and elderly now yet still enjoys playing. I have noticed what I thought was arthritis in her front elbow joints which i hope isn't OCD but will be uncomfortable or painful for her either way. The information was very helpful.

I have a two month old gray Scottish fold cat. It is also his first night with me and he woke up at 2 am and cried. But when I play with him. He stopped to cried. But when I stop to play with him and ho back to sleep he started to cried again. I have no choice but to leave him alone at home and keep all his necessities❤

we have a 6 years old Scottish fold he doesn't like being petted and definitely hates my guts but he really likes my partner and very low mobility people. he always wants to be around someone but doesn't want you to be loud, touch him or move much. basically if you are a plant that'd be perfect. he's smart and learned how to use the automatic feeder when ever he wants. and all though he loves to play i think he started to move less which is worrying but we visit the vet every month.

does anyone know how do i convince him i'm not the spawn of satan?

Can you pls help me, I just got a scotish fold mix with British shorthair, and after I saw everywhere on internet that even if they are not pure they will get the genetic illness of scotish fold, is this true? And pls could you pls advice me how to prevent it?
