Great video. Thanks for sharing this great information. Severe bleeding is an often overlooked life threatening situation. Way back in the Stone Age when I was a flight medic, we didn’t have commercial tourniquets, so we used a BP cuff inflated to the point bleeding stopped. Now I carry CAT tourniquets in all of my medical bags.

One of the best tourniquets I’ve ever used and haven’t been able to find since was the recon medical C.A.T style/clone, had an aluminum windless with a pin in it, and a hole in the strap so if your hands are slick you can easily grab and hook a finger in.

Great informative video! keep 4 North American Rescue CAT torniquets on the rig (1 on each visor and 1 per First Aid Kit (2) plus a SOFTT torniquet on my person. All of them are easy to reach. Would love to see more videos like this. Keep up the great work Doc!
