Hi! This video came up when I was looking for cashless budgeters and I'm so pleased. You use so many of the same tools and methods I use, from the Ally Buckets (so thrilled that we can now have 30 instead of just 10) to "cash" stuffing with prop money. I even have digital copy of the BPP workbook (not currently using it as I've struggled to make it work for me). I love it. Thanks for sharing.

I use a little fat notebook too but it is for my daily (messy...😂) To Do list. For my account register I get those old fashioned "check register/ledger" books. My credit union gives them to me for free. I also use one each for the individual sinking funds that I dip out of often. Plus one each to tract my spending in groceries, gas, pets, supplements, & on & on... These check ledgers are color coded and kept in a little zipper pouch similar to a small make-up pouch that you would carry in your purse. I can just grab one and see exactly how much I have left in that category or sinking fund. My credit union lets me have as many savings accounts as I want so I have five. One is "Savings", "Variable Expenses", "Fixed Expenses", and "Sinking Funds". Each month the appropriate amount of money is transferred from Savings into one of the other savings accounts and then I buy with my credit card and pay my credit card out of the savings account that has the allotted money for the category I spent from, ie, if I bought pet food, I will pay that credit card charge out of my Sinking Funds savings account. Makes sense?🤯😂

I have the Budget By Checkbook book by the Budget Mom as well, and it is really interesting to see how you've adapted it to your cashless method. It makes total sense. I use a combo of paying my fixed bills online, and just using cash envelopes for my variable and sinking funds. I also don't see the sense of taking all cash out for fixed bills and then redepositing it when the bill is due. My cash envelopes are because I like to work with cash as it's fun for me... and I love SEEING what I'm saving in actual cash. I have subscribed to continue following you and learning about your unique way of using the workbook and your cash. Good job.

I found this video very informative. I've been watching cash stuffing videos for a little while and find it a fascinating but dangerous way to handle personal finances. You have to be very disciplined to use the cash envelope method bc if you're not, there's always that temptation to use cash you know is easily accessible(in your bag or binder) once your designated money runs out. Also, it's dangerous to have a lot of cash sitting in your home, esp in these times.
The cash saving challenges do add a fun element to the process. If I had to choose a method I probably would prefer the cashless method. Thank you for explaining how you do this particular method.

Hi, I stumbled onto your video and found it very sensible and useful. I am new to cashless "envelopes", and you have made it an easy process to understand. I don't like carrying cash and I don't see the point of cashing a paycheck only to deposit the money in later. thanks for mentioning ally bank, I might open a savings account there just for the buckets. thanks again.

I do it the way you do. It’s senseless to pull money out of the bank only to put it back in the bank the same month….over and over.

Your video came up in my feed. I really enjoyed seeing the detail filling out of that form- I realize I was using it differently and actually your way makes much more sense! I subscribed- love the positivity. Off to see another one :)

Hi there, I truly enjoyed this video! Did you ever create the video where you screen recorded showing your Ally Bank buckets? I looked and didn’t see it and am very interested in that. I, too, have an Ally HYSA and use the buckets, so I was very curious to see how you organize and manage yours. If you did record it, please let me know which video it’s in. If not, would you be willing to?

Also, it’s so refreshing to see someone who still uses check registers. I do too.

I loved the video! I'm also giving this cashless envelope method a try, unfortunately TBM's budget workbooks are sold out, so I'm waiting for those to come back in stock xD it doesn't make sense for me and my family either to use cash so I'm glad I found another cashless budgeter to watch, sometimes I get confused about my rollovers since we cant SEE the cash getting rolled over, any tips for that? 300th subbie here xD

I just found your video by accident I learned a lot. I do have a question where do you put groceries and how much do you budget?

I use cash envelopes for my variable expenses as I am less likely to go over budget versus using a card or check. However, I’m not running back and forth to the bank but once a month so bills are paid online and sinking funds transferred in bulk to my savings with 100 dollar play money to “stuff” as a visual incentive and tracker.

Always make it to the end! I love the detail in your videos :) Also, I'm with Debra, I am seriously considering doing the prop money for my sinking funds, I have it in my Amazon cart but I haven't committed yet.

Enjoyed this video. So, I subscribed to your channel. Can you provide info on where to purchase the prop money? Thank you.

I wish my gas was $40 something, in California it’s been almost $90 for a 14 gallon tank.
