I heavily disagree. Chadwick never wanted the role to be synonymous with him, even his family said he would have wanted T’Challa to be recast. What’s worse is that they’re actively retconning other universes to ensure that nobody else can play T’Challa, like bringing back T’Chaka in X-Men 97 despite his son taking over in the original cartoon. Chadwick also fought like hell through the cancer to keep playing the character so that clearly says something about him wanting a natural conclusion. Would you REALLY never want another animated or video game adaptation of Bruce Wayne now that Kevin’s gone? Of course not. Respect the legacy but keep moving.

Just because the actor dies does not mean the character has to die with them. Imagine if we never got another Superman after the initial actor passed away. Same with Spider-Man, Batman, or Wolverine.

Marvel needs to recast the character of T'Challa, that's what the fans want to see. Even Boseman's family requested Marvel to recast the character.

I completely disagree, even Chadwick’s brother has stated that he should have been recast and his brother would have wanted that. I think the we are not recasting out of respect is a cop out answer.

We’re acting like a recast couldn’t have been used to honor him in some way. Besides it what Chadwick and his family wanted.
Yes it’s sad he gone, yes he was perfect for the role, but so was the guy who played general Ross.
Yes, we need to remember his performance and not forget, but We need the hero too. The Black panther franchise is missing black panther.

Honestly I think the recast ship has sailed but I don’t understand why Marvel is suddenly so averse to recasting characters when they had no problem recasting Rhodey and Bruce early on. I find it insane that after the drama with Kang’s actor they’d rather just sweep the entire arc they were building up rather than recast him.

I kind of have to disagree, like yes Chadwick is the black panther but at the same time they have to use the character again at some point rather than never using him again because of the actor (not being rude or anything like that just saying don’t have a character tied down and never used again because people can’t see a different actor playing them)

Could have an emotional scene with Shuri meeting an alternate version of T’challa. Maybe could help with whatever open wounds and mental scars are still there.
