Royal Navy service member dies after helicopter ditches in Channel

A member of the Royal Navy has died after a helicopter ditched while conducting night-flying exercises with HMS Queen Elizabeth.

In a statement the Navy said: "It is with great sadness that we must report a member of the Royal Navy has died following a training incident last night.

Fun fact, this is the second aircraft this carrier has lost at sea, it previously lost an f 35 at sea. How many times has it broken down? How much did it cost? Has it ever been in service and not just in ports for photo-ops?

It is a crying shame that all the RNLI and Coast Guard boats were helping the rubber dingies across safely. The services that were supposed to be there for them were not there for them when they were needed the most
