I believe Soyeon from (G)-Idle said that producers want songs to be shorter because they’re cheaper to produce & yield more streams, which means more money.

I agree that a lot of K-pop songs recently are very “generic” but I can say the same for a lot Western pop music, too. I don’t really listen to a lot of modern pop music, so I could be wrong.

Personally, shorter songs don’t necessarily have that emotional impact that I want to feel when listening to music. Especially since a lot of songs have a “drop chorus” (I think that’s what it’s called when there isn’t any singing) or repeats the same word or phrase.

I’ll still listen to the music but I hate that albums consist of only 6-8 two minute long songs :(

they all want to be viral memes rather than viral performers and stellar vocalists are non existant bar a few idols who i think can actually sing well but when it comes to these groups they lipsynch anyway which makes it pointless cause u just listening to a prerecorded cd track and even the ones that can sing well live still make it cost a fortune to go and see them or just make it hard by picking a certain big arenas than going to a varied amount of places like uhhh they dont want us there at all 🤷‍♀ ok no big deal for me. but i dont understand how they can want to go viral and be as popular as mj was but at the same time come across as being vein and self absorbed
