If you are trying to connect using many RDP connections to a server, this is not what you are looking for.

When you install Windows Server 2008, by default, it operates in remote administration mode, where you get a maximum of 2 active concurrent remote desktop sessions. To get more concurrent sessions, you have install Terminal Server role and purchase CALs for every user logging on to TS. Additionally, you have to install license server or point to a valid license server where your cals are

I found this extremely helpful and applaud the author for taking the time to record and post it.

Yes essentially - on a TS server or a normal stand alone server on which you get two remote admin sessions, it allows two log ins from the same user account instead of disconnecting the first :)

Hi, On WIN2008 R2 is required to uninstall applications while increasing remote desktop licenses (e.g. from 2 to 10). Thanks for reply.

Hello, I'm facing problem regarding remote desktop connection. I receive following message.

"The grace period for the remote desktop session host server has expired. But the RD Session host server has not been configure with any license server.Connection to the RD Session host server will be denied unless a license server is configured for the RS Session host server."

Please help me with that.

Hi there,

I have a windows 2008 r2 server, as a standalone, and did try 3 ways to allow multiple remote desktop connections. But I can never connect a third!

Always errors out (on the rdesktop client): "This computer can't access to the remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator."

Am I missing something?

Nice and clear, but fundamentally failed to first describe the context of what you are doing, hence all the question about the number of users/sessions and general misunderstanding. should have added that information
